Christmas and Turkey

MERRY Christmas people! It's a day of celebration and the traffic in KL is horrible. I've learned my lesson: NEVER shop for Christmas gift at the very last minute. The Christmas decorations of the malls in the Klang Valley are nice though. I grabbed some chances to visit some of them:

CHRISTMAS is around the corner. Just like every year the malls are up with their joyful Christmas decorations and lighting. And this time round Bangsar Village 2 come out with a Lego Christmas deco.

It has a 7m high Lego X'mas tree. The tallest in Asia.

Of course, there are displays of my favourite toy at all time. LEGO!

TODAY is a tiring day. I just got back from The Curve with mum, sis, aunt and family. Christmas is near and the decorations are already up in the mall. Almost every year MidValley does not fail to come out with fascinating Christmas decorations but I think this year The Curve does a nice job too. =)

Earlier, we went to the IKEA store next to it. I was hoping to do some changes in my room since I'm back home for almost two months. I got many ideas and inspiration from IKEA. It is really easy how the things in IKEA work. Simply yet nice. Dunno why they always come up with brilliant idea.

The first thing we reached IKEA was to have lunch. There were so many people there.

I wanted to buy a cloth hook for my room cuz the current one is, well, too small and has been there for quite some years already. Nevertheless it is time to look for a new and nicer one.

There were two choices. This one (RM19):

And this one (RM10):

Both look nice and okay to me. I kinda like the first one cuz it doesn't look like a typical hook but it has lesser hook on it. So, I took the second one.

There is also this desk which I quite like. It is a small laptop desk which I thought it would be useful when I'm on the bed. Really really hope to get it. The level and the surface angle can also be adjusted.

I suddenly had the urge to buy this.

Satur-Day Out

I was sleeping till 11am yesterday when Nicholas called me to go out for gai gai. Met him at the Hang Tuah Station at 11.45am. First we went to Times Square. Then he suddenly remembered that he had to go Kelly Services to settle his EPF stuff.

Took the monorail to Raja Chulan Station. Nicholas had a trouble getting out of the exit gate as his Touch'N'Go value was less than RM5. He called for assistance and according to the station staff. He must have at least RM5 value balance to use the Touch'N'Go service on the monorail. What logic is that?!

Anyway, after Nicholas had settled his stuff, we walked to the Pizza Hut at Jalan Sultan Ismail to have our lunch. We ordered the 4-in-1 festive combo for two person. It comes with the pizza, fizzy jelly drinks, a mango pudding, breadsticks and chicken soups. It was full. And I like it. I like pizza =)

Next, we went to Low Yat Plaza. Checked out some computer harware prices for Bee Li. She and Han Chee are going to buy a PC when they come to KL next two weeks. Asked different shops for the prices and at the same time I did learn many things from it.

However after comparing the prices, the graphic card that she wants is much more cheaper in Singapore. Maybe we'll get that in Singapore during the Christmas time.

Played Daytona in the arcade with Nicholas. I lost at the very last minute!!! Aiks..

Met Xian Boon and Bee Kee in Sg Wang. Bee Kee wanted to get a notebook and Xian Boon found two packages with interesting prices and specs. One is Compaq and the other is Fujitsu. Their specs and price are almost the same except that Compaq is using Intel and Fujitsu using an AMD.

After asking Nicholas and my opinion, we think that getting the Fujitsu is better!

On that day, there was a Digi Feast held outside Low Yat Plaza. Stalls and games were being set up. One guy asked us to join the paintball game, for free! But we didn't want to trouble ourself so Nicholas and I just walked and see around. Took some pics.

Walk around, up and down at Sg Wang. There were alot of people as usual. Had a drink in one cafe where it also has the in-line skating just started not long ago. RM12 for unlimited hour.

At about 7.30pm we went to Starhill Gallery. On the way there saw an Australian guy doing a fire performance. It was for the charity. After the performance a guy came to collect some donation. As usual, most of the crowd just walked away and disappeared. Nicholas gave him some money.

Before going to Starhill, we stopped at BB Plaza to have a look at the christmas decoration inside. While I was sitting on the stage filled with the decoration. One Ah-Ma guard came to say: "Hello? Don't sit here pliss. Want to sit, can go to Coffee Bean and sit."

First thing that we did when arrived in Starhill Gallery was to look for the washroom. I must say this is a must-'visit' spot for everybody. No other shopping centers in Malaysia have washrooms like Starhill. Come and find out. Only in Starhill =p

Starhill is one of the place where you'll find branded and high class retail shops in it. The shoppers are not many compared to the shopping complexes in Bukit Bintang. It's consider an exclusive shopping mall.

Don't even think of entering the restaurants inside when there isn't a RM50 note in your wallet. There is a Japanese buffet restaurant on the upper floor where the price is quoted according to the customers' height. Growing so tall isn't so good anyway. Hehe.

Nicholas brought me to a cafe for a drink where it's considered quite affordable for us at that time. Anyway we just wana have a try. The place is called Tiffin Bay. It is more like a jazz lounge. There were people playing piano and singing jazz. We ordered milkshakes and enjoyed the atmosphere there.

As I was trying to take some pics of the place and then suddenly the waitress came to me and say no photography is allowed. However I did manage to snap some before that.

After staying there for some time, we left to Times Square. Hoping to get some cheaper food there as we haven't had our dinner yet. Went to The Chicken Rice Shop but the chickens wana sleep already. The shops are closing. It was almost 10pm.

So Nicholas and I walked to Pudu to eat the famous Teochew porridge. Cheap and delicious! After dinner we walked back to Hang Tuah station and took the LRT home.

Left the house at 11.30 am and reached back home at 11.30pm. It been a whole day out. My legs were tiring. I needed a good night rest.

Ipoh Mari

ON Saturday followed Perry to Ipoh. He was going there to find his coursemate while I wana give a suprise to mine! Hehe. It was a last minute decision.

Perry came to pick me up at 7.30 in the morning and we reached Ipoh around 10.30 am. Stopped at Jusco for awhile before Perry fetched his friend from her house nearby.

At the same time SMSed my friend to find out where her location was and coincidently she was heading Jusco to watch movie with her friends. So asked Perry to drop me at Jusco again before he and his friend went off.

Went up to the cinema and was hoping that she didn't notice me until she get a sudden suprise from me! Hehe. I acted as a stranger and went to her to ask for directions. She was totally freaked out when she saw me. Haha.

Too bad they already bought the movie tickets by the time I reached there. So I would just have to watch seperately. We watched '1 missed call: Final'. I still prefer the first movie. It's alot more scarier compare to this.

After the movie, followed her and her friends walked around the complex. Then her friend brought us for lunch in a coffee shop somewhere nearby, called the 'JJ Corner'. Many of the Jusco stuff went there for their lunch break. Cheap and near I guess.

After that, we went to Ipoh Parade. Just walked around. Christmas trees and decorations were already being displayed.

Saw one stall selling something I never seen before. It is called 'long sou tong' or the Dragon's Hair Candy. My friend bought a packet for me to try it. Very sweet.
At about 5.30 pm they left the parade to go to a friend's house. I didn't join them. Felt like I was at Ipoh on the wrong day. That day she was supposed to out with her friends and I think they had some plans for themselves. Because of me they had to canceled and couldn't do anything much. My bad.

So went to watch movie for the second time, alone. There was a show just started on that time so I got a ticket of it. It was a Malaysian made movie, 'Possesed', starring Amber Chia and korean transsexual singer/actress Harisu.

Well, I think the movie is not bad for a Malaysian movie. It was shot entirely in Kuching. The story was about a girl (Amber) searching for her sister (Harisu) after waking up from a coma. Go watch it if you haven't already.

After the show, Perry called and came to pick me up. Went to his friend's house for awhile before leaving for KL at about 8 pm.

Well, didn't really do much and go many places in Ipoh this time. Hopefully get to see some attractions and taste the famous food here in near future.
