Christmas and Turkey

MERRY Christmas people! It's a day of celebration and the traffic in KL is horrible. I've learned my lesson: NEVER shop for Christmas gift at the very last minute. The Christmas decorations of the malls in the Klang Valley are nice though. I grabbed some chances to visit some of them:

The Birthday Month

Just got back from yamcha session with my high school mates. Also to celebrate Yee Mei’s 22nd birthday. Her birthday marks the end of the birthday season in June. I didn’t attend many though, except for hers and Jason’s cuz I was in Negeri Sembilan for my holiday assignment.

Once again, happy birthday!

I still remember when we all of us were in secondary school, this is the time where we would be forking out a lot of money for the gifts and meals. First we have Sendhil’s birthday on the 30th of May. Followed by Shao Jin’s on the 31st.

Then in June we have:
1st June - Sharon
9th June - Perry
11th June - Khong Jin
16th June - Randy
18th June- Chia Sheng
25th June - Lai Kuan
26th June - Pik Shen
29th June - Yee Mei

And July:
4th July - Collins
6th July - Jian Fai
7th July - Chin Hwa
11th July - Siew Ki

Furthermore all the dates are almost close to each other. I wonder if all the parents planned it earlier or what. Imagine AT LEAST RM10 for present + a meal + cake…

However, things are different when I come to UTM. Most of my course mates including myself have our birthdays at the end of the year. On October itself there are eight of us:

Living in a Small KL

JUST came back from yamcha at Kepong with Hui San. I also called Siew Wei along earlier but unfortunately she couldn’t make it on the last minute. And since my cousin brother is staying my house for a night, I brought him along too.

Never have I drove so far away to have drinks with friends. But it’s all worth it for tonight. Hehe. I took the MRR2 way from Pandan Indah to Kepong cuz knowing that the roads in KL center it will be terribly jammed.

Firstly, gotta go to Bandat Sri Damansara's McD to pick up Hui San. Then she led us to Chandran mamak stall. I’ve heard about Chandran from her and Siew Wei some time before. And Siew Wei said that the roti there is better than the one in Steven’s Corner. So today I take the trouble chance to travel all the way there to try their roti. And I did no regret it. =p

Well, for me, I think both Chandran’s and Steven’s are equally good la. Maybe I’m not that choosy type of person. Hehe. But I particularly like the Roti Chicago from Chandran’s. It is actually a bun with egg and filled with mayonnaise and chili sause. And we also ordered their famous Roti Salad and Paper Tosai (recommended by Siew Wei).

OK, and here comes the freaky part. Well, not to say freaky but quite surprise and everything seems be so sudden. The day before I was in Low Yat and there was this female promoter who introduced me the new Izzi broadband service. She left her number in the flyer and I sent her a CNY SMS on that night itself.

And on this night, while I was eating halfway with my cousin and Hui San in Chandran. Suddenly I saw a face quite familiar to me. The face that I recognize in Low Yat the day before. She was just arriving in Chandran with her friends. At first I was quite-but-not-very-sure it was the same girl I talked with so I looked at her for some time when she approached our table. Hoping that she would at least give some reaction when saw my face. (And that if she recognize all the people she talked to in Low Yat.)

Hehe. Guess what? It was really her!!! Both of us were stunned for awhile. I bet she must be surprise seeing me in Chandran too. Gosh, I met her in Low Yat and now we meet again in Kepong! Is that what you called fate huh? Haha. KL is really really small after all. I must admit that things do not always happen like that.

So she sat on the table next to us and I continued eating and chatting with my friends. And before I left I wished her goodbye and she asked if I use MSN. So I told her ya and I’ll SMS her my email address. It all happened so fast.

And right now we are SMSing each other while I’m typing this. Wow is something really going on? I dunno. We shall see… ^^

Tian Shang Ren Jian

On last Wednesday our Advanced English class was canceled cuz other people were using the lecture room that we were suppose to use. And there weren’t any other unlocked room for our class. So all the Chinese students (except for Chin Keng, Choon Wah, Lim, Jim, Wei Chin, Eng Kee, Sim, Jean, S.Ning, Han Chee and Beeli) went for a karaoke session in JB.

Tiong recommended a place called 天上人间 (formally known as 天安门) where the rate is quite cheap. And there was a 40% discount as he is a member there. There were a number of 12 of us therefore we only paid RM7 per person in the end.

After 4 hours of shaking the room we went for supper somewhere nearby. There are still some stalls opened and so we ordered pan mee and some dim sum and porridge.

On the way back to UTM, Tiong drove passed a backalley where there are many Agua s waiting for customers. Woh...scary! Even those in Thailand are more beautiful.

We reached back UTM at almost three in the moning. And what's good about UTM now is that, we won't have to scan our matric card anymore everytime we enter uni after 12am. Last time we used to have our card scanned and if we reach three times of scanning we will be fined!

At least now I like UTM a little bit more.

June

IT is the sixth month of the year and so is the birthday season. Most of my friends are celebrating their birthdays at this month. Every year when it comes to this time, money has to be spent on presents. And this year all of us are going to be 21. Therefore, this is the time where we will become pokai. Hehe.

So this year birthday season started of with Sendhil's birthday.

Sendhil (31st May)

Sendhil was my assistant for my commitee when we were junior prefects back in Form 2. Just like every year, Sendhil celebrates his birthday at home. From Pudu to Tasik Pemaisuri and then Pandan Perdana. His mum will prepare all the food eg, curry, mee hoon, vegetables etc. including the birthday cake!

Sharon Lim (1st June)

On the next day, it was Sharon's birthday. A nice and sweet girl which I got to know her when she came to MBS to study Form 6. This is the first time she invites all of us to her house in Segambut. We met up in school before going there.

Jason Yong (2nd June)

On the following day, it was Jason Yong's birthday. About two months before his party, one of his close friend planned a suprise party for him. The party started at 7pm and at that time we were still choosing a present for him at the shopping mall. I guess this is what we meant be MBS spirit! 'Better late then never'

After a week since Jason's birthday, it was Perry's. At first we planned to have a countdown celebration for him a day before at the mamak restaurant but he couldn't make it on the day. So during his birthday night, we had dinner at Kaki's Corner.

After the dinner, we went to Connaught to have some fun: playing pool and fusball. I didn't play that for such a long time and I am not good at that either. But who cares, just hit the balls and enter the holes. At there, we met with another group of friends. And we had a great time meeting each other and enjoy the game! =)

Khong Jin (11th June)

Today is Khong Jin's birthday but sadly he is not in KL for us to celebrate with. So we decided to send him a birthday card, a BIG one, to his flying academy in Kota Bharu. Last Friday, we had a meeting cum yamcha session to get the card signed.

Nilesh was willingly to mail the card for us on the next day, Saturday. Unfortunately the post office didn't open and therefore he gotta wait until Monday. By the time the card reaches to Khong Jin it will be belated already.
It is okay. Better late than never! That's the MBS spirit. =p
