Island Trip (Day 5)

Day 5 (Mon)
KJ and I went to Raffles Place MRT to give out the flyers in the morning. That place was surrounded by corporates and office buildings so it wasn't difficult to distribute all the flyers.

Then we took MRT to Tanjong Pagar station and walked to the Amara Shopping. There was nothing much there. We had our lunch in the food court then continue giving the flyers outside Tanjong Pagar MRT station. It was kinda difficult at that place because there were others who were also doing the same thing as us. So we left after awhile and went to Plaza Singapura by MRT and walked around. Went to Times bookstore then I had a small nap in the food court.

Plaza Singapura
At about 5.30pm we started distributed flyers again outside Dhoby Ghout MRT station. After everything had finished we took bus back to Holland Avenue and bought dinner back to eat.

Watched TV at home then went to Zzz..

Island Trip (Day 4)

Day 4 (Sun)
KJ and I had breakfast at home. Then we went to Bugis MRT station to distribute the flyers. As it was a Sunday and many people was passing through the place heading to the Bugis Junction, we finished the flyers in about 30 minutes.
Bugis Junction
Bugis Street
We walked along Bugis Street. That place is like KL's Petaling Street but it is all covered with air-con. I bought a watch for S$13 and then we walked to Sim Lim Square (Low Yat of Singapore). I was thinking of buying an MP3 player since it's cheaper to get it there but in the end I chose to buy an MP4 player as the price didn't differ much, S$130 for a 512MB.

Later in the evening, we went for the movie "The Pink Panther" in Bugis Junction, which costs S$9.50/ticket. Although the show lasted only 90 minutes but it was full of craps and laughter. Worth watching it if you are looking for something to laugh at =D It will definately brighten your day up.
Steve Martin as Insp. Jacques Clouseau
KJ and I had dinner in the food court as it was the cheapest to get in Singapore. At night we took MRT to Pasir Ris to visit my relative. My cousin asked me to buy her chewing gum from Malaysia because you cannot find it in Singapore. We stayed and chat for awhile before went home at 10pm.

Took shower, rested awhile, slept. I spent too much money on that day.

Island Trip (Day 3)

Day 3 (Sat)
Met KJ's aunt (another one) in CentrePoint and she brought us for a buffet lunch in Pheonix Hotel, Orchard. We spent almost 2 hours there and then KJ and I went to Holland V (荷兰村) to distribute the flyers. The respond was not very good over there. It rained and we left before we could finished giving out all.
Holland V
At night, KJ's aunt and uncle (the one we are staying at their house) brought us to The Bistro @ NUSS The Graduate Society in Suntec for dinner. Only graduates from National University of Singapore and other universities are allowed to enter. And both KJ's aunt and uncle are members. This month they are offering the French Cuisine so I got a chance to taste it and experience a fine dining (where the plate is so big but the dishes is just a portion in the middle) for the first time. It was a nice and peaceful atmosphere as they are people playing guitars from table to table. When they came to us, KJ's aunt requested the song 'Stand By Me' and they sang harmonically! (applause)
After the dinner we went to Clark Quay (pronounce as 'key) for a walk. It's like Jln Alor in KL but of course, it was nicer and cleaner =) There was this G-MAX reverse bungee but both KJ and I were too kiasee to try it. After all we were just finished eating.

Clark Quay
There were lots of bars and pubs at the place. Crazy Horse Paris also opens Asia’s first and biggest cabaret theatre at that place. But it is restricted to audiences aged 21 years and above. We then took the river taxi to Boat Quay which cost about S$4 per trip/person. Then we walked to Raffles Place MRT and took a train home.

Island Trip (Day 2)

Day 2 (Fri)
Our first day of work! KJ and I had breakfast at home then walked to Buono Vista MRT station at about 8 something to distribute the flyers. We finished in just a short time as it was a peak hour at that time.

Then we took MRT to Raffles Place. Walked around, took some photos, and headed to One Fullerton.

We saw a big group of tourist, mainly Japanese students, taking photos and buying souveniors at One Fullerton. There was a big statue of Lion Head + Fish Tail, called the Merlion.
"Arigatou goazaimasu"

Then we walked to The Esplanade and right up till Suntec Shopping Mall. Went to the arcade and ended up donating money to them.

Had our lunch in the food court before giving out flyers outside Suntec. After that we took a double decker bus to Orchard Road and gave out the flyers in the underpass of Orchard Road. There were alot of people walking down there.

After all the hard work we went to Lucky Plaza and bought some stuff. Then met up with KJ's air-stewardess cousin to have dinner together at Wisma Atria.

At about 10pm we went back home, bathed, rested then slept! Another tired day.

Island Trip (Day 1)

FOR the past 11 days I totally had no idea what was happening in Malaysia. Yesterday I just arrived KL from Singapore with Khong Jin. Two of us went to help out his aunt over there for the past few days. I did gain many experiences while helping to give out flyers promoting her aunt newly opened dance studio.

Yeap! We were giving flyers to people outside MRT stations, bus interchanges, shopping malls etc. At first we were quite paiseh and feel awkward as it was our first time doing that, somemore not in our own country. We were assigned to distribute 4900 pieces of flyers in 7 days. However we felt better and more natural as the days passed. You could see how people responded when they tried to run away from you. There were also people who were so rude that I felt like giving two big tight slaps on their faces. Haha but I didn't!

Other than helping out Khong Jin's aunt, we also enjoyed ourselves on the island. We've been to many places, met some people and saw many things that you can't find in KL. Haha..will tell u more.

Day 1 (Thu)

Going -> Singapore

Reaching -> Singapore Custom Checkpoint
KL and I left Puduraya Bus Terminal (KL) at 10am. The bus then stopped at Yong Peng for lunch break before heading to Singapore via the Second Link. When reached Beach Road (Singapore) at about 4.30pm, took cab to KJ's aunt house in Holland Close. His aunt showed us our room (we were staying at her house) and brieved us the on the flyers distribution schedule.

Suntec City, the largest shopping mall in Singapore
At 6pm we went to Suntec City by MRT and meet KJ's aunt (another one) and cousin for dinner at Tony Roma's
Tony Rama's famous Baby Backs Ribs and Onion Rings
It was my first time eating that as they do not have any branches in Malaysia. It rib was SUPER delicious! (Maybe I was hungy. Hehe) I ordered The Original Baby Backs Regular Slab (plus 2 side dishes) which costs S$27.90. It would be almost RM60!! Thank God I didn't have to pay for the bill - KJ's aunt treated us =p

After the dinner we went around shopping and KJ's aunt bought shirts for him and his brothers at the Topman Shop. And again the three shirts costs her about S$150. You do the math.

Went back home (Holland Close), took a bath, rested awhile, then went to bed as it was a tiring day for both of us.
