Goodbye Vicky

OUR friend, Vickneswaran had just left us. During school times, he was quite a funny but sometimes-serious prefect. Many of us liked to tease him with the word 'Monkey' in class. =p Anyway, he is a good and hardworking fella. He strived for excellence. Sometimes he did something that made us laughed until cried.

This evening at 6.45pm, I walked to Shao Jin's house to wait for him. He fetched Randy, Sendhil, Wai Luen and me to KLIA.

By the time we reached the airport was already 8.15pm. We looked for Vicky at Check-in Counter L. Khong Jin, Saha, Prisaana and Nan was already there there. So did Vicky and his family.

"Hey Vicky, don't forget to look for pretty chicks there!"

Vicky: "I think they will come to me."

"Hello, wake up k!"

All of us took photo with the guy who was leaving to Australia to persuade his piloting course. He will be staying there for about 12 months (yup, 1 year only!) before coming back again.

He must be feeling excited because he will have unlimited freedom once touching down at Sydney. At the same time felt sad also la because had to leave ALL his loved ones here.

"I promise I won't look for chicks. Trust me."

A while later Nicholas came, with one friend.

At 8.45pm all of us sent Vicky to the departure gate. His family members wished and hugged him. Saying 'Goodbye' 'Take care' etc.

"Adakah semua pisang dalam beg ini kau punya?"

And at the last moment, I wanted him to have something memorable in mind before leaving KL. I shouted "猴子 (monkey) take care" to him! Haha. Before he left, I passed something to him. A photo of our class, Upper 6 Science 3.

After coming back from KLIA, Shao Jin, Randy, Wai Luen, Sendhil and I went to Steven's Corver for supper. Perry joined. Randy brought his uncle and aunt along. Had nasi lemak + ayam rendang + teh o ais limau = delicious!

Randy's uncle talked to us about becoming wealthy and doing business mindset. He is one of the manager working for Citibank.

We chatted for a while. Then went home by 12am.

Job Interview

TODAY I had appointment with Miss Lydia at MCB building, 12pm.

Left the house around 10am to LRT station. Took the train to Maluri, then took the RM2-per-day RapidKL City Shuttle Bus to town.

I didn't know where excatly the building was so called Wai Luen for the direction. He, Gilbert and Wei Yuen already went there yesterday.

The building was located at Cangkat Raja Chulan, just opposite the KWSP building.

Went up to the 13th floor. Entered the Kelly Services office. It was actually an job agency office. Filled in the form. The receptionist checked my IC.

Then Miss Lydia called me to her place for interview. I was brieved about the job. The pay, time, rules etc.

She then asked me to go to Maxis Tower for another interview at 2pm. If I passed that interview, I'll get the job.

The job... Oh! Is in Maxis Tower, working in Customer Service Dept. Doing some data entry job. And also calling customers once awhile.

The pay there is quite good. RM6.50/hour. Only Monday to Friday every week. Maybe once a while I'll have to go on weekends. But that is fine for me =)

So I walked to the bus stop nearby. Couldn't get a bus to KLCC. So walked to another bus stop further in front (outside Wisma Genting).

A bus heading to KLCC just left. I just missed it!

Feeling semangat on that time, so I walked to KLCC. Had lunch on the way at Jln Perak (Next to Thai Club). The place was like an oven. The air was so steaming hot! Could see alot of people on that area as it was near to office lunch break hour.

Reached Maxis Tower at about 1.30pm. Asked for the pass to go up to the 8th floor. Waited for Miss Brenda (I think that's her name) to come at 2pm. The place there was nice and comfortable. I surfed the net for awhile. But only Maxis site.

Not long later, Miss Brenda came and brought me to the 16th floor. Then she interviewed me in the meeting room. The interviewing session was short.

She got my number, and said will call me.

Then I went to KLCC, walked a while at Kinokuniya bookshop. Outside KLCC there were many police armed forces holding their gears and weapons. Looked like something bad was going to happen anytime. Police cars, motocycles, vans and even HELICOPTERS were surrounding that area.

Many people and tourists were seen taking photo as it was a rare sight. My camera was with my friend so...no photos for this post *sorry* As it was a Friday and the sembahyang period had just ended at that time, many people were curious and stayed there to have a look what was going to happen next. However the police guards asked them to leave and not to gather at the place.

When I walked to the front and had a closer look, it was actually some opposition party people giving speeches. They were very upset about the raising of the petrol price recently.

One of the banner says: SATU LAGI PROJEK BN, MENAIKKAN HARGA PETROL

Saw my bus coming to the bus stop, ran towards it. And went back home.










At 5 something pm, I received a phone call...from Miss Brenda. She told me that I can come to work at Maxis on the next Monday. 9am!

HAHAAAA..OH YEAH!!! I got the job!! Looks like the next thing that I am gonna do is... shop for my shirts/pants. =D

Island Trip (Day 9)

Day 9 (Fri)
Finally, no more flyers to be distributed, no more funny faces/rejections from people, it was time for us to ENJOY!! On that day, KJ and I decided to go Sentosa, the Singapore island resort.

KJ: Which is my cabin?

First we took a cab to Mount Faber and then took a cable car ride to the Sentosa Island. The return-trip ticket costs S$17/person for the glass cabin. From the cable car we could see..

It was a breathtaking view from the top. However to those who are afraid of height and sea, I suggest you to take a bus/car ride to Sentosa.

Once we reached Sentosa Cable Car station, we walked under the hot sun all the way down to the visitor arrival centre. Then took a Sentosa feeder bus back to the top again. -_-" Haha. I didn't look carefully at the map and the surrouding at first.
First we went to the 4D cinema (located at the Imbiah Lookout) and watched the show "Pirates!" starring Leslie Nelson. The ticket was S$16/person. It lasted only 20 minutes but the effects was amazing. Not only you could feel the seat moving and the 3D effect. There were also water splashing, wind blowing and sounds from the seats to make the whole show looked real.

Then we took the luge ride (1st in South East Asia) nearby. It was something like a go-cart but instead on stepping on the accelerator pedal to move, you just have to slide with the engine-free-cart downhill using its unique steering and braking system. It rely on gravitatonal pull to move. I must say that that was the most exciting ride on that day! It gave us the adrenaline rush without a car.

After the ride, a chairlift will bring you back up to the starting point.

Next we walked along Siloso Beach. It lies on the west portion of the southern coast and it has places for beach volleyball and other outdoor activities such as canoeing, skim boarding, mountain biking or roller blading. There are also dining and shopping outlets along the beach.
It started to rain halfway and we ran to a souvenior shop for shelter. Thenwe took the Siloso Beach tram back to where we walked from and when the rain stopped we tried the luge ride for another time.

Next we boarded the Tanjong Beach tram to the Dolphin Lagoon at about 1pm. The ticket to watch the pink dolphin show is S$19.50 (inclusive of The Underwater World Entrance). The dolphins performed some stunts to cheer up the crowd. The MC then called for two volunteers to play games with the pink dolphins

After the dolphin show, we took the Sentosa feeder bus to the Underwater World. For me, it was nothing much. Almost the same as KLCC Aquaria and Langkawi Underwater World. After all, it is still fish. KJ bought a box of chocolates before leaving there.

From the Underwater World, we took a tram to Pahlawan Beach. There was a suspension bridge that lead to another small island off the coast which is said to be the Southernmost Point of Continental Asia, or Asia's closest point to the Equator.

After enjoying the view and breeze from the tower, we walked along the beach back to Siloso Beach. There we changed and went into the sea since we brought our swimming trunks along. Unfortunately it rained after 15 minutes so we had to changed back.

When the rain stopped, we took the chairlift up the hill. The chairlift reminded me of the ice skiing resort from Winter Sonata. =D We tried the luge ride once more, then went up back up again. After that it was time for us to leave the island, since it was already getting late.

I am definately coming back to try this again!

At night KJ's parents were hosting a dinner at SAFRA Mt Faber. It was in a clubhouse and I heard that the dinner costs about S$700!! All of his uncles, aunties and cousins came. And I was the only outsider. Anyway, I still enjoyed myself. The most important thing is, I got to taste delicious food without having to pay a single cent. =p

After the dinner, we went to the bar downstairs and the uncles aunties had a drink. Some were singing karaoke/dancing and some were playing pool. To my suprise KJ dad was good at playing pool. We spent the whole night until 1am...
