Mid Sem Break

I am back at KL for a week. I brought home some studio work to do but don’t think I can do much. I feel like resting and do nothing for the few coming days. These things hardly I can do in uni nowadays.

Two days ago before coming back to KL, I went to Malacca as my family was there. I took a 3.30pm bus (which came 45 minutes later) from Johor and reached Malacca Sentral by 6.15pm. My cousin and his girlfriend picked me up at the bus terminal and we went to look for my coursemates Han Chee and Chiou Yann. They reached Malacca earlier cuz they took the morning bus and they checked in a hotel called Baba House which was just opposite Hotel Puri. RM96 for a room with air-con and attached bathroom. Not too bad.
The place they stayed

I never really entered a heritage house in Malacca before. The first moment I entered this shophouse-convert-hotel towards their room, the place was amazingly long. There are more than one courtyard in the middle of the house and it has feeeel. If my cousin wasn’t there to pick me up, I might be sharing the room with the two of them.
Haha. Joking. This IS Baba House

After visiting their room, we were ready to explore around the area. Since the hotel is just located next to Jonker Walk, there was the first place we went. Many stalls were already being set up and later at night it was going to be a lot of people and tourist there.
 Welcome to Jonker

We came across this small little alley which brought us to a teahouse on the other side. There were some displays, mostly artifacts and also a GIRAFFE! According to the owner, good luck will come when we touch the tall giraffe and so we molested the animal for non-stop.

The all of us

We were also being served desserts for free. Hehe. The place provides a comfy and quiet environment for those who enjoy the art of tea.
Red bean+coconut milk+rice...

Then we continued walking to the new attraction in town – the revolving tower. They named it Menara Taming Sari which is the name of the keris tha Hang Tuah used. But I don’t see any connection between the tower and the keris.
On the way from Jonker to the revolving tower which is nearby to Maktoka Parade:
Malacca famous landmark
Trying to capture jump shot, but failed
Cute pose by lil kid
The ship museum
AT LAST, the Menara Taming Sari

The student price for the ticket is RM10 per pax. Before, I was thinking why they wana built such tower in Malacca as they are nothing much to see from the top. I was wrong. The view was simply breathtaking. Better than looking Malacca town in Google Earth. The sea, the lights, the hills, old and new buildings, and the ant-sized human. It would have been better if they could slow down the spin. The 7 minutes ride journey is a little too short for me.

 It's 'menara' everywhere

After the ride, we took some photos from below and it wasn’t easy to snap the whole tower. We had to wait for the suitable time to capture a nice photo. That’s when my camera tripod came in good use.

One of the multiple shots

It was already 9.30pm and our stomachs were starting to have concerts. We headed back to Jonker Walk to search for food and to buy some stuff. We also met Jenny and Joseph there. As usual, Jenny bought herself some ‘not three not four’ stuff. You know, stuff like fake cockroach and worms. And I bought a pair of magnetic earrings for RM10.
Getting more people at Jonker
My roots
Sing Ning must be very excited to see this!
Saw one lenglui
And also one leng jai

That’s all for Jonker, people.
Yumyum~

Cuz it's time for my dinner. Ciao...

Let me present to you: C-string, the strapless underwear!

I'm sure you've heard of the G-string, V-string and the T-string, or T-back as commonly known.
Say goodbye to uncomfortable straps

Things are getting weirder and weirder these days huh. I can say that this is an underwear evolution. This new style of women lingerie looks almost like a hair band. The front part is like a normal style of G-string with a thin band running to the back - the ass.
No strings attached

So who can wear the C-string?
ANYBODY! It can be worn under any clothes from skirts to dresses and jeans. Unlike a G-string, you don't have to worry it to be shown through when wearing a tight trousers.
TIGHT TIGHT

C-string is ideal for those who enjoys sunbathing but don't like the tan lines. Since it doesn't have straps, it allows you to enjoy the sun and give you much nicer and even tan.

How C-string will look like when it is put on the body?
Front
Back. Wuu, sexy!

I am not sure whether the girls will feel comfortable wearing the piece of cloth which supports only from the buttocks.

But it does look sexy for me. Hehe.

Okay that's enough of photos. Otherwise I can hear people calling me pervert already. =p

So remember, no panty lines, no tan lines! ;)

But not for this rhino over here

THE 29th summer Olympic opening ceremony held in Beijing yesterday was a blast!

Huan ying!
Incredibly neat

To watch this long awaited event, Choon Wah and I went to the 24 hours McD’s near our campus to catch it live on its outdoor screen display. Chin Keng, Chiou Yann and Bee Li joined a while later.
The crowd at McD. Mostly UTM students
To our surprise, many people were already there when we reached about 15 minutes before the event started, at 8.08pm. These people must have come very early to booked their seats.
While playing the national anthem of China
Can see the flag behind?
There were also a lot of Chinese students from UTM. And they even brought the People’s Republic of China flag to make the atmosphere more lively.
Martial arts
We managed to get a place near to the screen but it was inside the restaurant. Later on, only we moved to the outside when there were some spaces.
Like 'The Curse of the Golden Flower'
Little girl singing
The opening ceremony started with the countdown which combines the ancient Chinese history with the modern high technology. There were cheers, fireworks, LED screen, video and audio throughout the whole event.
Digital clock
There are many compliments on the ceremony which I saw in the net. I must really agree with them. It has gone above beyond and many surprises as well. Especially on the last part where the torch bearer suddenly lifted up into the air and started ‘jogging’ along the track which is a vertical circle wall at the top of the National Stadium, also known as the Bird’s Nest.

The guy who ‘flew up’ was Li Ning who scored many medals during the 1984 Olympic is Los Angeles. The 45-year-old could be seen running in slow motion while carrying the torch on a long gigantic screen. The screen looked as though a painting was being unfolded as he was running.
Lighting the torch
The way of lightening the giant torch in the end is pretty amazing too. The former gymnast champion held his torch high to a flammable pipe which was attached to the Olympic torch on the top of the stadium.
These back guys
They draw on the stage

Before, the choreograph of the performances, dance and martial arts was very well-planned and directed by Zhang Yi Mou, a well-known Chinese director. Some of his famous works includes Curse of the Golden Flower, Hero and House of Flying Daggers.

A total of 10,000 performers took part in the opening ceremony. They were the Qin Dynasty warriors. They wore suits with lights. They performed the martial arts. It looked like director Zhang completed his task beautifully with success.
The warriors
I call them the yellow Digi man
Some dance
The Malaysian team. What a costume...
Over 200 teams from countries all over the world

I like the idea of the movable and digitally controlled floor stage. One part the stage appeared slowly like when how the ancient Chinese paper scroll is opened. Very inspirational!

Sarah Brightman also appeared during the ceremony where she sang the Olympic theme song with one of China’s male singer on a sphere-like platform at the center of the stadium.

The globe stage

Peviously there were rumors that artist like Celine Dion, Jay Chou, Rain, Eason Chan, Hacken Lee, Faye Wong and Jackie Chan would perform.
Smiles and the girls underneath

There were a lot of fireworks that night. There was once where the fireworks were shooting not only above stadium but all over the neighborhood. It was awesome! Just like how you watch in some explosive movies.
Raising the China flag
When the glittering Olympic rings were formed on the ground, they were then slowly raised up to sky. Very Christmas-like feeling. Apparently this was also the first time that the shape of rings were being formed in the sky.

I am still wondering how they lifted all these thing and people up
From what I’ve also found , this is the most expensive show in Olympic history, with the media speculating that as much as US$100 million has been earmarked for the opening and closing ceremonies. More than twice that spent on the 2004 Athens Olympic.
This is indeed a dream come true for the people of China and a glory that belongs to every Chinese in the world.
华人万岁!!!

ps: other than the photos at McD's, the rest of the pictures are taken from the internet. Courtesy of google news =)
