Say It Again

I can't resist but to post up this video after watching it in YouTube. It is the music video for Marie Digby's Say It Again.

Too cheerful! =)

I like how the backdrop keeps on changing. There is one scene where it changes to the cover of her 'Unfold' album.

Enjoy bah...

TOMORROW I am going to Endau Rompin National Park with my primary school mates. One of the friend planned it so i just joined along. Just now I was at Puduraya Bus Terminal to buy my bus ticket for tomorrow.

If you are wondering why we didn't buy the ticket together? Actually we did. My friend who bought our tickets told me that we will be departing on Friday. At first I was thinking that I'll be in Malacca so I might head to Rompin straight by myself and meet the rest of them there.

However plan changed last minute and she already sold the ticket to the other. So today I had to head to Puduraya to buy the ticket again. Sad new is, the 9am ticket (which is the time we all depart) has been sold out!! And they only left the 12pm ticket. If I buy that, I'll be reaching at Rompin at 5pm, 3 hours later than them. And they had already arranged to meet the guide at 1pm.

Some more Transnasional is THE ONLY bus company that has got buses travel to Rompin. Screw the rest of the company la!!

Then I headed to Hentian Putra nearby PWTC to try my luck. They too, didn't have the morning bus from KL to Rompin. But fortunate enough, the guy at the Mara Liner counter told me that I could get a 9am bus from Hentian Putra to Muadzam Shah (God knows where it is) which took about 4 hours. Then I can transfer my bus from there to Rompin in just 1 hour.

In the end, I'll be reaching in Rompin at 3pm. Two hours later than the rest. I called up Wai Yee aka the orgainser and told her my journey plan. And she said she'll arrange the guide to come pick us at 3pm instead of 1pm. And of course, the rest will have to wait for me la.

So paiseh for messing up the trouble. I promise I'll belanja them something when reach there. Hehe. That's all about Rompin la. Will post some photos when back from there on Sunday.

Yesterday I was out with Choon Wah. We planned to visit the KLCC skybridge in the morning as he has never been there before and wanted to ask Marc along. But on the last minute Marc couldn't make it so we didn't go to KLCC anymore.

Instead we went to Low Yat Plaza because Choon Wah wants to look for a laptop. After walking (almost) all over the place and checking the price and all that, he'd decided to get a DELL laptop. I personally think DELL is not bad since it has an internation warranty. But still he needs some time to decide and compare the price around before really buying it.

I got my laptop (Acer Aspire 4720) last August with a price of RM2800. With this price now, I think he could get a much more better laptop already, with faster processor, higher RAM and nicer graphics.

I actually wanted to get a pendrive since mine already kong kong (dead) long time ago but still figuring what size of the USB drive I should get. 4Gb or 8. Worrying that if I buy the 8Gb, the price will drop enormously in a few weeks. So in conclusion, I'll only get it when going back to uni on July.

Before going back, we stopped by at Times Square for Sundae Cornetto at McD and I got myself a Marie Digby album, finally! Yeah! =)

Marie Digby's Showcase

YESTERDAY concert was a blast! It was not really a concert like Jay Chou or Celine Dion World Tour in Stadium Merdeka. But more like a mini showcase of Marie Digby held in the shopping mall of 1 Utama, followed by autograph session. And most important of all, it was FREE!!

I got to know Marie Digby in youtube and found her voice very nice and pure!! Ever since I'm so hooked up with her, like how I was attracted to Karen Kong’s voice in youtube as well. Marie is also talented. She could play the piano and guitar and even write her own songs.

Her version ‘Umbrella’ song was the one that made her so famous. She also sang ‘Gimme More’ (of Britney) and ‘What I’ve Done’ (Linkin Park) with only using her guitar and vocal, which I’m so amazed of!

The stage

A little bit of her background: She’s a mixed of Japanese mum and Irish-American dad, which gives her the bit Asian and Caucasian look. You know, like Kristen Kruek and Mandy Moore those kind.

And the moment the long black-haired singer came upon the stage last night, I was like “OMG, she’s sooo soooo sooooo fair. Just like snow white. Really! And looks so much like a Barbie doll”

The crowd on the evening

I arrived 1 Utama at around 6 something in the evening and there was not so many people, yet. So I walked around, and reloaded my handphone credit before standing at a nice spot at the front of the stage. At that time, some amateur photographers were already preparing themselves at the front row as well, with their DSLR camera, waiting to get a close shot of Marie.

There was actually an area right in front of the stage which was empty and only reserved for the press and invited guests. At about 7pm that area was still empty and happily we thought that we have booked a nice spot. But when the invited guests started to arrive and filled in the particular area at the front, they were already blocking those who came earlier before.
Luckily I was standing at the side instead of center, therefore my view wasn’t really blocked. Hehe. A little tips for those who wanna attend some showcases like this the next time. Do not stand in the middle and right in front of the stage.

The crowd was getting bigger at 8pm. I also met with Yuen Cheong who was just finished his work in 1 Utama. Sendhil, Collins and Sook Yee will be arriving later as well.
The MC, Jay and Roshen
Singing Contest

Mix.fm DJ, Roshen and Jay were the MCs for the evening. As for the first event of the show, three callers of a Mix.fm came up the stage to sing Marie Digby’s Say it Again. And the crowds were to decide who sang the best.

Marie suddenly walked out from the backstage right before the event started and made the crowd went crazy. Cheers and camera flashing non-stop.

Alas, the winner was the 12 years-old girl and she walked away with a brand new Yamaha Acoustic Guitar which worth quite a lot I guess.

Then Marie returned to the backstage and a group of five Malays came out of nowhere. We thought that they were sesak or something and came to a wrong place at first. Only then the MCs announced that they were actually the Malaysian group who got the 2nd place for an international acapella competition held by Marie Digby. The 1st place goes to Hong Kong. So not bad for Malaysia in a global competition afterall!
They performed an acapella version of Say It Again. It was awesome!

Next was the poster giving (throwing) and the interactive session. Prizes were given out to those who answered the questions by the MCs correctly. Once, the MC asked of the colour the dress that Marie wore for the evening. I was LUCKY enough to be picked by the MC and I was 100% SURE AND VERY CONFIRM WITH THE ANSWER so I shouted: “White..! WHITE!”

“White??! Hey, you colour blind ar?!” the MC replied. “Very close, but NOT white.”

Aww!! Really dissapointed! I was really sure she was wearing white. That’s what I saw with my own eyes earlier when she came out. But only I realized later that she was wearing another grey dress which I couldn’t see other than the white colour top.

Yea, many thanks to the invited guests and press for blocking the below part of my view. -_-" A brand new latest album of Marie Digby gone, just like that…gone…… =(
I want! I want!

Marie performed a few songs on the evening, including her own hit “umbrella”, with the crowds singing along. She played the keyboard and most of all with the guitar. She really has a sweet voice and her smile was like melting everybody, including myself. Some photos:

At the end was the autograph session inside the GAP store. The line was so long and therefore I’ve decided to give up, plus I didn’t have anything for her to sign for. Earlier the MCs announced that only her CD and products from GAP that only could be signed. I wanted to get her album after the show at a special price of RM39.90 but it was fully sold out.
Long queue
Taking a peep
Sook Yee saw Adam C in 1U and managed to snap a pic with him

Anyway, it was nice to see her in person and listen to her performing live. I was quite entertained during the whole show and already happy with that. Standing for two and a half hour with the crowd and didn’t had any meal till the end of the event. Well, it’s worth it! =)

ps: while I was surfing for her tour in Singapore which was about 1 week ago, and found out that dress that she wore was a bit, well..more revealing. Hmm, could that be something to do with the Malaysian government?? Just curious…. Hmm.

Event in Singapore earlier

Just too sweet =)
ps 2: found this on youtube. Her thoughts on the Asia tour.

"Malaysians out of control.." =p

Lang Tengah Trip (Day 3)

It was the last day on the island. We had nasi lemak for breakfast. After that, we packed our stuff and took some last shots before leaving the resort by boat at 8.30am.

Group photo

Liang took the lead

"A little help?"

1st thing 1st: Sleep

Upon reaching the jetty at Merang, our bus was already there. We've decided to book a bus for a day tour in Kuala Terengganu since we were only leaving at night. So there'll be plenty of time for us to wander around the town.

Reaching the jetty

"Ahh, sien already"

Drying my shirt and towel in the bus =p

For the first destination of the day, we went to the famous crystal mosque. The mosque is located beside a river and in Taman Tamadun Islam. Apart from the crystal mosque, we also passed by other replica of mosques from all over the world eg. Eygpt, Turkey, Iran etc. There is also a mini Taj Mahal.

Not really made of crystal la. Just a metaphor
We also met with one of our coursemates, Nadia who is staying in KT. She was kind enough to spend some time with us there. She also invited us to her dad's chicken rice store for lunch but nobody seems 'to be hungry at that time' and she left awhile later for some emergency reason.

Before entering the mosque, we were all required to covered our aurat. Therefore, we wore...

Next, we visited the state museum. It is the largest museum in Malaysia and it is built in accordance with the traditional architecture of Terengganu. That is why it looks almost like our UTM building. The design and motives of the UTM building were actually adapted from the Terrengganu state. Haha. We felt so familiar when coming near the museum, as if we are going back to our campus in Skudai.

Here we come, UTM
Before entering the musem (which cost RM2 per person), we went to the outdoor where they have some galleries and showcase some boats and wooden houses.

At the museum entrance
The Terrengganu State Museum has several exhibits, including the Main Museum, Maritime Museum, Fisheries Museum, 4 traditional houses and botanic and herbs gardens. But we didn't went to all the places.
There are ten galleries showcasing textiles, crafts, historical, royal, nature, art, petroleum, Islamic, new generation and contemporary arts. The original batu bersurat is also kept in the museum.
Lunch at Kampong Cina
" Eh, tell u something..."

Sleeping in the bus
After the lunch we went to the visitor information center in town to ask if there are any more places that we could visit and we were suggested a few places like the batik stores, floating mosque and the Barok beach.
Mirror reflection of the ceiling in Visitors' Center
There was nothing much to see in the batik stores except for some booth to see how batik is produced and some expensive batik clothes and dresses. After visiting the stores we came to the floating mosque. It called a floating mosque because the mosque is built above the water, looks as if it is floating on the water. Other than that, it is just a typical mosque.
The floating mosque

For the last destination of the tour, we came to Barok Beach and spent around an hour there. It has a loong beach facing the South China Sea and the wind was coming non-stop from the sea.

Back to our bus

The bus dropped all of us at the KT Bus Terminal and we went to McD's for our dinner and stayed there until it was time to leave. We also had a suprise birthday celebration for the 3 of them...

Karen, Chiou Yann and Choon Wah

Since there wasn't any bakery shop nearby, McFlurry should replaced the cake. ^^
