Photoshoot @ Bintang

LAST night Nicholas looked for me to have dinner together. It’s been a while since we last met. He brought his friend Kenneth along. The initial plan was to meet up with our senior in Ampang Park and we would have meal together around that area. However it seemed that she had a meeting to attend therefore there was a slight change of plan.

Since we had no idea where to go, I suggested Thai cusine. I remember a place where Tiong brought me with Chiou Yann, Han Chee and Jenny few months back. So we took the LRT to Bukit Bintang and walked to the restaurant – Green Lotus.

The restaurant is located in one of a shoplots at Jalan Walter Grenier, which is at the back of Lot 10 shopping mall. You may never realize there is a comfy place to hang out. A nice spot to bring your loved ones too. I personally like the Tom Yum soup there very much!!
We ordered Mandalay and Chiang Mai set, which costs not more than RM20/set

After our meal, we went around snapping photos around Bukit Bintang area. First we headed to Pavilion, one of my favourite place in KL. Nice building, nice people, nice cinema, and what else? While I was happily posing for a shot, one security guard came to me...

Guard: Sini tak boleh pakai kaki.
Me: Huh? Kenapa?
Guard: Ini law...
Me: 0.o

The ‘kaki’ he was referring was actually Nicholas’ camera tripod. He talked to me nicely and so I didn’t screw him back. They didn’t allow us to take any photos using the kaki but luckily we managed to snap some earlier.

Next we crossed over the road to StarHill and continued snapping more pictures. Inside the gallery (since we only go there to SEE stuff and not able to afford buying anything) there are many nice restaurants with different themes and deco. The atmosphere inside is so pleasant. I swear to myself one day I am gonna dine in there, perhaps with that special someone. =)

So it was until almost 11pm that we decided to go back. LRT no open 24 hours.

My One and Only CNY Shirt

I like shirt with stripes

FINALLY I bought myself a new shirt in for Chinese New Year in Times Square. This year I only got one cuz mum said that there are still many shirts in the wardrobe that I seldom wear when I was away staying in the JB.

Also I bought a new mouse to usher the year of rat. The mouse that I bought previously for my laptop was kinda small for my hand. At first I thought that small will be easier to use and keep but after using it for a long time, it somehow feels trouble the hold and move the mouse with just three fingers.

BenQ mouse, RM45
I spent most of the time looking and choosing the correct mouse. You see, some mice are really nice with high dpi and with latest technology blah blah but most of them are designed for right-handed people. Lefties like me are quite susah sometimes when it comes to this.
And all this while I was thinking whether to buy a cordless mouse or not. Cuz it looks really cool and nice to keep without all the wires and stuff. But heard some say that it is not that nice and you needa change the battery when it dries up.

So after comparing the prices and the specs of the mice in Low Yat, I’d decided to get a normal optical wired mouse. End of story. Wanna save money to buy other stuff. Hehe. But also I chose that because it is big enough for my whole hand to grab on while working with it. And it comes with two function buttons. Mice nowadays come with unique unique shapes and additional buttons for easy tasking.
My rats
I saw one A4Tech mouse which has a button where you press it for the double click function. So instead of clicking twice on the primary button, one click on that will perform the same thing. And when playing games like Counter-strike, one click on the button will shoot twice the ammo. How cool is that!

Apart than that, I also got a new laptop bag for my laptop, of course. The Acer bag that I used to carry, well, is too common for people to know that I am carrying a laptop so I need a different type of laptop bag and so I found this. Not too expensive for a laptop bag, only RM99.
It can be either a sling bag or a backpack
Also, I bought a laptop skin which I wanted to buy the last time I was back in KL. The transparent sticker on my existing laptop looks quite torn out and sticked with dust so I think it’s time to find something nice to cover or decorate or zh’ng my laptop. Hehe.
Kan! After buying only I realised other shops were selling RM5 cheaper

Before going Low Yat, I was having brunch with Sharon and Khong Jin in Pavilion. We went to a Japanese restaurant called Ichibon Boshi. Ordered some raw salmon and shasimi, chicken katsu and the Japanese' favourite eel. Not bad the place. Nice food and environment. The price is okay okay. It came to about RM28 per person but it’s worth it! =)

Then we went to look for Lee Keng who is working in a branded shoes shop which a pair of shoes can cost up to RM1000. Unfortunately she was on duty that time and the store supervisor must be so strict that she’s not allowed to talk to friends.
So she told us to meet up again during her break at 4.30pm but by that time we could have left already so…erm…very sorry Lee Keng. Maybe we can meet again next time.
Heavy traffic at Jln Bukit Bintang
While walking around and showing them around Pavilion, I met up with one of my primary class mate who was having a tea session with her colleagues in Starbucks. It’s been a long long time that I’ve never meet with her. About 7 years like that. OMG, she looks nice and become pretty prettier. I used to have a crush on her during primary school times. Quickly I snapped her photo, for her contact picture on my phone.
Hello, long time no see
Today is also the day Stephen Chow and his crew come to Pavilion to promote his new film, CJ7. The red carpet was already laid out from the main entrance into the main stage. That time we (Sharon, KJ and I) were in Pavilion was quite early and he will only be arriving at 7 in the evening so we couldn’t have the chance to meet him. Hmm…but if Jay Chou were to come, I might be staying there until 7. Hehe.

While I was walking and looking stuff around Low Yat I came across this promoter who introduced the new broadband service 'Izzi' to me. We chatted a bit about uni stuff and then she wrote her number down on the flyer before passing it to me, in case I have any inquiries about the service. Hmm...should I ask her out someday?

Farewell 2007

SO finally we have come to an end of 2007. Few days later I’ll going back to the lousy university. Yeah, lousy cuz the internet connection in the hostel is so soo sooo sloooow. And the food there sucks! There is only ONE Chinese stall in the whole university. So freaking lousy!
University Tiru Meniru (UTM)
Also have to get back to uni life already. Projects, assignments, sleepless nights, then sick due to lack of sleep.
My hostel block
But on the other hand, I will get to meet my coursemates again. After 1 month of missing seeing each other, I’m sure we have much to discuss and crap about. And hope CK will bring more “supply” to the hostel.
That's CK
I never did much during this holiday. Didn’t find a job, didn’t go for a long trip (except the Genting one) and basically just laid at home and did nothing. Once awhile met up with some friends for yamcha and movie session. That’s all.
GSC Pavilion
This coming semester I’ll be joining Ar. Hong’s environmental workbase. Some friends from his previous batch said that he is not that good, he didn’t crit much on our design until the very last minute and he always talk about business rather than architecture. I guess maybe that's his style.
However there were also some good comments on him: how he helped his student to save money on printing and most important of all, he gave fair and good grades to all for the final project! And, he is a Chinese! =) The ONLY Chinese lecturer in the whole 1st and 2nd year. Not so sure about the other years though.
OK so 2008 is coming and what is my new year resolution? Erm…well, as usual, hope everything will be smooth and nice (although it will not be sometimes, I know) and hope that I can meet my falling star anytime soon. =p
Haha. But mum always say: "Ming, study first lah….study first…"
So I guess just leave that to fate.
Flip-flop on my desk
One thing that I really really looking forward in 2008 is to travel to Canada and USA with my aunt’s family. Some weeks ago she asked me whether I’ll be free on this coming June cuz if I am, I can join them for a tour to Canada. They will also be going to visit my cousin brother who is currently studying in Seattle.
I was very very excited when I heard that but I would have to ask my dad first and guess what? He approved!!! I really can’t believe. Haha. I am going to land of ang moh for the first time if everything goes well next year.
One more thing my aunt told me that got me really high is that, if the plane transits at Japan, we might stay there for a day or two. Whoa…isn’t the trip too wonderful?! Hehe.
So what I'm gonna do when I return to uni is to confirm my sem break next year. Hopefully there will be no clashing with my measured drawing assignment, which I’ll be doing it in Negeri Sembilan on next mid-year.
At MidValley after watchin 'I Am Legend'
Last but no least, Happy new year to everyone! =)
