My First Apple Product

I got myself an iPod Nano (third generation) during the Mac+iPod fair in City Square JB two days ago. There will be only 50 units sold per day at a price of RM299 until the fair ends. Seeing it at such a comparably low price (usual price at RM450+), I could not miss the chance of getting one. Moreover, I have always wish to own an iPod since long time ago.

I reached CS around 9.45 in the morning and to my surprise there wasn't any queue at all. I thought that lots of people would be queuing up for this kind of promotion. So I must be either early on that day, or not many know about the promotion yet. Or it could be that the iPod Touch is everybody's favourite now and nobody is keen on getting a nano.

But anyway I got what I wanted! =) There is only one colour for a 4GB capacity - silver. I am not a song freak therefore 4GB is quite sufficient for me already. Right now there is about 600+ songs in my iPod and it still left about 35-40% of empty space. I have yet to put in any videos because it requires an MP4 format so I need to first find a video converter. Any recommendation?

However there is one thing about iPod. Since it is an Apple product, I have to download and install iTunes in order to transfer my songs from the PC to the player. You cannot just drag and drop like any other MP3 players. iTunes will help to organise each of every song into specific albums before synchronize them all together. Therefore I am now still in the midst of exploring it.

To prevent the iPod from being scratched I bought a casing to put on it. The normal price of a casing would be RM50+ but it is only RM10 during the fair. I quickly grabbed two of them. One silicon (soft) and another cystal case (hard). There are many colours to choose from.

Apple has always come out with cool navigation features to impress people and for this iPod, I like its click wheel ALOT. By sliding my finger across the wheel I can navigate through the menu and to control the volumn. Haha. I always love to syok sendiri with that.

So I guess it is time to say bye-bye to my old 512MB MP4 player I bought three years ago, which cost about the same price as this iPod.

The New Samsung

HAVE you heard of Sumsung?

With less than RM500 you can get this iPhone-liked cellphone in China. It has almost all the functions just like any other cellphone nowadays. SMS, MMS, radio, MP3 player, Bluetooth, WAP Browser, calender, alarm, games etc. The only thing left out is the 3G.

It also comes with a 2-megapixel camera at the back. And with flash light.

As the phone doesn't have any keypad to press on, all the typing and pressing are done on its touch screen LCD. You could use finger to tap on the menu and buttons but it comes to difficulties when typing an SMS. That is when a stylus come in handy.

However the most important of all, it has a dual SIM function which two SIM cards could be operated simultaneously without having to switch off and on in order to swap the network operator. This is pretty convenient if you have two girlfriends numbers.

There is also an internal card slot for micro SD card at the battery area to store up the personal songs, movies (.3GP format) and photos.

With its stylish look and the features available, I must say this Sumsung phone is worth for the price we pay.

TOMORROW I am going to Endau Rompin National Park with my primary school mates. One of the friend planned it so i just joined along. Just now I was at Puduraya Bus Terminal to buy my bus ticket for tomorrow.

If you are wondering why we didn't buy the ticket together? Actually we did. My friend who bought our tickets told me that we will be departing on Friday. At first I was thinking that I'll be in Malacca so I might head to Rompin straight by myself and meet the rest of them there.

However plan changed last minute and she already sold the ticket to the other. So today I had to head to Puduraya to buy the ticket again. Sad new is, the 9am ticket (which is the time we all depart) has been sold out!! And they only left the 12pm ticket. If I buy that, I'll be reaching at Rompin at 5pm, 3 hours later than them. And they had already arranged to meet the guide at 1pm.

Some more Transnasional is THE ONLY bus company that has got buses travel to Rompin. Screw the rest of the company la!!

Then I headed to Hentian Putra nearby PWTC to try my luck. They too, didn't have the morning bus from KL to Rompin. But fortunate enough, the guy at the Mara Liner counter told me that I could get a 9am bus from Hentian Putra to Muadzam Shah (God knows where it is) which took about 4 hours. Then I can transfer my bus from there to Rompin in just 1 hour.

In the end, I'll be reaching in Rompin at 3pm. Two hours later than the rest. I called up Wai Yee aka the orgainser and told her my journey plan. And she said she'll arrange the guide to come pick us at 3pm instead of 1pm. And of course, the rest will have to wait for me la.

So paiseh for messing up the trouble. I promise I'll belanja them something when reach there. Hehe. That's all about Rompin la. Will post some photos when back from there on Sunday.

Yesterday I was out with Choon Wah. We planned to visit the KLCC skybridge in the morning as he has never been there before and wanted to ask Marc along. But on the last minute Marc couldn't make it so we didn't go to KLCC anymore.

Instead we went to Low Yat Plaza because Choon Wah wants to look for a laptop. After walking (almost) all over the place and checking the price and all that, he'd decided to get a DELL laptop. I personally think DELL is not bad since it has an internation warranty. But still he needs some time to decide and compare the price around before really buying it.

I got my laptop (Acer Aspire 4720) last August with a price of RM2800. With this price now, I think he could get a much more better laptop already, with faster processor, higher RAM and nicer graphics.

I actually wanted to get a pendrive since mine already kong kong (dead) long time ago but still figuring what size of the USB drive I should get. 4Gb or 8. Worrying that if I buy the 8Gb, the price will drop enormously in a few weeks. So in conclusion, I'll only get it when going back to uni on July.

Before going back, we stopped by at Times Square for Sundae Cornetto at McD and I got myself a Marie Digby album, finally! Yeah! =)

My One and Only CNY Shirt

FINALLY I bought myself a new shirt in for Chinese New Year in Times Square. This year I only got one cuz mum said that there are still many shirts in the wardrobe that I seldom wear when I was away staying in the JB.

Also I bought a new mouse to usher the year of rat. The mouse that I bought previously for my laptop was kinda small for my hand. At first I thought that small will be easier to use and keep but after using it for a long time, it somehow feels trouble the hold and move the mouse with just three fingers.

I spent most of the time looking and choosing the correct mouse. You see, some mice are really nice with high dpi and with latest technology blah blah but most of them are designed for right-handed people. Lefties like me are quite susah sometimes when it comes to this.

And all this while I was thinking whether to buy a cordless mouse or not. Cuz it looks really cool and nice to keep without all the wires and stuff. But heard some say that it is not that nice and you needa change the battery when it dries up.

Low Yat Plaza, one stop IT entertainment

So after comparing the prices and the specs of the mice in Low Yat, I’d decided to get a normal optical wired mouse. End of story. Wanna save money to buy other stuff. Hehe. But also I chose that because it is big enough for my whole hand to grab on while working with it. And it comes with two function buttons. Mice nowadays come with unique unique shapes and additional buttons for easy tasking.

I saw one A4Tech mouse which has a button where you press it for the double click function. So instead of clicking twice on the primary button, one click on that will perform the same thing. And when playing games like Counter-strike, one click on the button will shoot twice the ammo. How cool is that!

Apart than that, I also got a new laptop bag for my laptop, of course. The Acer bag that I used to carry, well, is too common for people to know that I am carrying a laptop so I need a different type of laptop bag and so I found this. Not too expensive for a laptop bag, only RM99.

Also, I bought a laptop skin which I wanted to buy the last time I was back in KL. The transparent sticker on my existing laptop looks quite torn out and sticked with dust so I think it’s time to find something nice to cover or decorate or zh’ng my laptop. Hehe.

Before going Low Yat, I was having brunch with Sharon and Khong Jin in Pavilion. We went to a Japanese restaurant called Ichibon Boshi. Ordered some raw salmon and shasimi, chicken katsu and the Japanese' favourite eel. Not bad the place. Nice food and environment. The price is okay okay. It came to about RM28 per person but it’s worth it! =)

Then we went to look for Lee Keng who is working in a branded shoes shop which a pair of shoes can cost up to RM1000. Unfortunately she was on duty that time and the store supervisor must be so strict that she’s not allowed to talk to friends.

So she told us to meet up again during her break at 4.30pm but by that time we could have left already so…erm…very sorry Lee Keng. Maybe we can meet again next time.

While walking around and showing them around Pavilion, I met up with one of my primary class mate who was having a tea session with her colleagues in Starbucks. It’s been a long long time that I’ve never meet with her. About 7 years like that. OMG, she looks nice and become pretty prettier. I used to have a crush on her during primary school times. Quickly I snapped her photo, for her contact picture on my phone.

Hello, long time no see

Today is also the day Stephen Chow and his crew come to Pavilion to promote his new film, CJ7. The red carpet was already laid out from the main entrance into the main stage. That time we (Sharon, KJ and I) were in Pavilion was quite early and he will only be arriving at 7 in the evening so we couldn’t have the chance to meet him. Hmm…but if Jay Chou were to come, I might be staying there until 7. Hehe.

While I was walking and looking stuff around Low Yat I came across this promoter who introduced the new broadband service 'Izzi' to me. We chatted a bit about uni stuff and then she wrote her number down on the flyer before passing it to me, in case I have any inquiries about the service. Hmm...should I ask her out someday?

A Late Birthday Gift

I just wanna wish a BIG thank to all my aunts and uncles for this wonderful gift. I got it on last weekend when I went to visit my aunt in Singapore.

It comes with a VGA camera, walkman, MP3 ringtone, M2 memory slot, infrared and most important a radio function! Not as good as the one I had before but I still like it. At least my fingers don’t have to feel painful anymore whenever I SMS someone.

Hope the same tragedy won't happen to this phone.

WAKE up today at almost noon.

Went downstairs, saw a posted mail for me. I recognise the handwriting, and also the stamp chop. It looks just like the letter I received the day before. It must be from the same letter. But why in two different mail?

Yesterday I received a Chinese New Year card from that particular friend. What could it be today? A Valentine's Day card? Another Chinese New Year Card? Or a Christmas Card?

Hmm.

When I opened the mail, to my a suprise.....it is a HANDPHONE! A Nokia 6300!!

A Choice to Choose My Date

IF I had a choice to choose who I wana date during this Valentine's Day. It would definately be Vanessa. She is a girl from my course.

It's not that I fell in love with her or I love her so much. The truth is, she is the girl where I think almost every guys will not fail trying to ask her out on that day. I dunno how to explain that. She has the 'attractiveness' which makes me want her to be my valentine's date without any hesitation.Just like Hannah Tan, the TV host/former beauty queen/singer, she is also a mixed of Chinese and Kelabit, or Chibit. In fact, she is a friend of Hannah's younger sister too. There were once in the same class.

However, there is a problem: The South China Sea. She is now back at her home in Miri, Sarawak. And I'm stayting in the potato-shaped Peninsular Malaysia.

Anyway, back from dreaming. I did spend my day out yesterday during Valentine's day. In the morning, Jian Fai fetched me to our Alma Mater, MBSSKL. There were alot of changes since the days we left the school. The sport houses T-shirt has been changed..to a more childish look. One part of the school block (where my Form5 class was located) has been demolished..to give way to a new four storey block with 12 classrooms.

And there is a new column right in front of the school office, called the 'Kisah Benar'. It is basically stories about some students doing some good deeds, contribution to the school, being helpful etc.

Wah Lao!!! Since when MBS started this? And whose idea is that? Well, I think it's OK to annouce it when for example, a student saved an ah pek from drowning in the Klang River or a boy stopped a riot at Jalan Chow Kit and managed to settle the arguments between the Guas and Geis but not every remeh-temeh stuff also need to inform the whole school ma.

Coincidencely we also met up with Siang Ling and her boyfriend, Kukan. Then Choon Wah came too. We saw some of our teachers and had a small chat with them.

During noon, Choon Wah and I went to Puduraya because he wanna get a bus ticket back to UTM after CNY. Then we went for lunch at Green Hut. Jian Fai didn't join because he had to fetched his girl girl.

After lunch, CW went back home and I went to MidValley to meet up with my Valentine's date. Hehe. There was this acrobatic shows from China performing at the Center Court.

I went to collect the movie tickets which I've booked two days ago through the net. My date was still on the way to Midvalley so we decided to meet at the cinema entrance as the show was about to start at 3pm.

We watched Epic Movie. I tell u, this is the most silly show ever. Something like Scary Movie, it combines some parts of the movies from Da Vinci Code, Snakes on the Planes, Nachos, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Narnia, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, James Bond, Superman, Star Wars, Click and also Borat. And it makes fun all them throughout the whole show.

There is also Paris Hilton appearing in it ;)

After the show, we shopped around before having a drink at Secret Recipe. I saw the girl which I admired (she is two years my senior) during the school times, walking with her boyfriend outside the cafe. I think she saw me too.

Suddenly there was a loud 'THUMP!" At first I thought Godzilla has arrived at MidValley. But It was actually some African guys who were just started a fight nearby. Soon the securities came and the crowd witnessed the show.

Valentine's day, couples everywhere. Holding hands, presents and flowers all around. Girlfriends shopping and boyfriends waiting to pay. There were also some school boys and girls, dating in the mall after in their uniforms.

"HELLO, after school go back study la! Aih..children nowadays!"

Haha, can't blame them. Two years ago, I was like that too at this time with my ex. Times flies, everything moved so fast and not the same anymore. Sometimes I wonder if she is doing good, or I am just doing not so great.

By the way, don't get me wrong. My date which I asked to accompany me yesterday is not a girl, but a guy. We are not trying to break our backs to become one of the brokebacks. He is actually my good friend during the high school time.

Since many of our friends are attached and not available on that day so I managed to ask him out. Who says Valentine's day must only celebrate with ur boy girlfriends, darlings or dear?! As long we have fun and enjoy ourself on that day right? =)

After a whole day of walking and shopping, we went back at about 8pm by train. Nicholas went back to his college at Nilai because he will be having a class on the following day. And since Chinese New Year is coming, I bought myself some gifts:
A Sony Ear Clip Headphone for my MP4 player. What I like about it is that the wire is retractable.
A pair of straight cut jeans from S&K. Got discount 30%. With jeans I don't have to wash it everyday in my hostel =p
An architecture book about houses from MPH. Might be useful for my upcoming third studio project. There are a lot of books about architecture but one thing about architecture books is that they are not really cheap.
Spent about RM300 on those stuff. This time I must visit as many places as I could to get MORE ang pows already. *grin*
